Who I am
I am Eileen Hunter. Tony Lavelle Hunter is my husband. I met Tony in October of 2020, we married in July of 2023 while he was incarcerated, and I have worked on his case since 2020. I am the author of Free Tony Hunter 333814: Unmasking the Lies That Stole His Freedom — his account of this case, told in his own words, which I wrote and published, now in its second edition.
My purpose is plain, and this site does not pretend otherwise: I believe my husband is innocent, and I am working to exonerate and free him. What these pages ask of you is not belief — it is an hour with the record. Every factual claim on this site is cited to a court document, and every page that describes a claim also tells you how the courts ruled on it.
What I have done on this case
- Commissioned a licensed private investigation in Louisiana (2021–2022), including inquiries to the Ouachita Correctional Center, the Ouachita Parish Police Jury and the Monroe Fire Department
- Obtained and organized the court record — trial transcripts, clerk’s minutes, every filing from 2002 forward
- Worked with counsel to obtain records not previously disclosed
- Wrote and published the book, now in its second edition
How this site is sourced
Everything factual on this site comes from one of four places:
- Testimony given in open court, quoted from the trial transcript
- Motions, applications and rulings filed in the public docket
- Exhibits admitted in open court
- Published appellate and post-conviction opinions
Where the site draws a conclusion of its own, it is set apart in a section marked “Our view.” We do not state in our own voice that any person lied, committed perjury or committed any other crime. Where a court has made a finding, we report the finding and quote it.
We publish the losses. Every page that describes a claim also states how the courts ruled on it.
Corrections
We maintain a corrections policy and we honor it. If something here is wrong, tell us and give us a source — a court document, a ruling, a news article — and we will correct it on the original page, dated and labeled. We do not silently edit factual claims about named people.
