Primary documents are the spine of this site: every factual claim on every page traces to the court record. This page is the index. Some documents are transcribed in full on this site; others are quoted extensively on the pages that analyze them; rulings live in the public court record. Transcriptions preserve the original wording; we redact only personal data per our policy (addresses, phone numbers — never substance). Researchers and journalists can request document access through the contact page.

Transcription: Affidavit of Glen Dale Nelson (January 2012)
Provenance: sworn affidavit executed January 2012, filed with Mr. Hunter’s subsequent post-conviction applications. Operative text transcribed below; the notarized original is part of the court record.
“…a jailhouse conning scheme organized by my friends Vaccara Comanche and Clarence Kennedy to get a conviction for the state against our enemy Tony Hunter in the triple homicide. I informed Detective David Harris that me and Tony Hunter are enemies and that I didn’t know anything about the triple homicide. I did not testify because Hunter’s attorneys nor investigator interviewed me about the triple homicide. If Hunter’s attorney or investigator would have interviewed me about the triple homicide, I would have testified to the truth in Hunter’s behalf that me and Tony Hunter have never had a discussion about the triple homicide. It was a jailhouse con by my friends Vaccarra Comanche and Clarence Kennedy to use my name to establish their jailhouse scheme so they could get help from the District Attorney’s Office for their charges.”
Transcription: Affidavit of Michael Ruddick (December 19, 2012) — key passage
Provenance: sworn affidavit of the trial prosecutor, filed in post-conviction proceedings.
Mr. Ruddick avers that he did not call Glen Dale Nelson at Tony Hunter’s trial because “he was totally unreliable, and it appeared he would say anything that he thought would help him with his various legal problems.”
Reader’s note: no court has held an evidentiary hearing on the Nelson or Rucks affidavits, and the applications presenting them were denied. We transcribe them because primary documents — not our characterizations — are what readers should weigh. If any transcription diverges from a filed original, our corrections policy applies.
