Provenance: sworn affidavit of Glen Dale Nelson — the man to whom Tony Hunter allegedly confessed — executed January 31, 2012, sworn before a notary public [signature block partially legible on the scan: Notary Public, Bar Roll #18822, L. JoAnn M[c]Andrew], witnessed, and filed with Mr. Hunter’s 2013 application and again as Exhibit 1 to the 2026 filings. The operative statement below is transcribed as it appears in the filed record; the declaration paragraph is reconstructed from a partially legible scan with bracketed markers. AFFIDAVIT OF GLEN DALE NELSON
Fourth Judicial District Court · State of Louisiana · City of Monroe · Parish of Ouachita
I, Glen Dale Nelson, declare as follow[s]:
It was a [jailhouse conning] sch[eme] orga[niz]ed by my [fr]iends Va[cc]a[r]a Com[a]nche and Clarence Kennedy to get a conviction f[o]r the st[a]te against our [enemy Tony] Hunter i[n] the triple homicide. I [informed] Detective David [Harris that] me and Tony Hunter are enemies [and] that I didn’t know anything about the triple homicide. I did not [testify] because Hu[n]ter’s a[tt]orneys nor investigator interviewed me about the t[r]iple homicide. If Hu[n]ter[’]s attorney or inves[t]igator would have [interviewed me about the] t[r]iple homicide, I would have te[sti]fied to [the truth] in Hunter’s behalf [that] me and Tony [Hunter] have never [h]ad a [discussion about] the triple homicide. It was a ja[i]lhouse con by [m]y f[r]iends Vacca[rr]a Comanche and Clarence Kennedy to use [my na]me to establish [their] ja[il]house sche[m]e so they could get help from [th]e Distr[ict] Attorney’s Off[i]ce for [their] charges.
I declare [under the laws of the] United States of America [and] under pe[rj]ury of the State that the above [statements] are [t]rue and correct. I have not been [in]duced by [th]reats of a[ny kind to] p[r]oduce this af[f]id[a]vit and if called at trial to te[sti]fy I w[ill] do so to [t]he above to the best of my knowledge.

The other half: Nelson’s own reliability is contested from every direction — the trial prosecutor swore he was “totally unreliable,” and courts have discredited his testimony in other cases (see the Nelson file). No court has credited this affidavit; the applications presenting it were denied without evidentiary hearings.
