Levi, Jeremy, and Chavez: The Victims This Case Is About

Three people died at 221 Greenwood Drive on March 10, 2001. Levi “Chico” Williams was 24. Jeremy Staten and Chavez Staten were eleven years old — boys who considered Anthony Rodgers their godfather, sleeping over at a house they knew well. This site argues the record convicted the wrong man. That claim is not in tension with grief for the victims — it is an extension of it: if the filings are right, the person or people who killed Levi, Jeremy and Chavez have never answered for it, and the first interviews in the record pointed at rumors and a household the convicted man had no connection to. We name the victims with respect, we publish nothing that sensationalizes their deaths, and we hold one position: they — and everyone else — deserved a prosecution that got it right. The record of whether it did is here.
